Springside is taking shape right now. Site clearance began in December 2006, with the demolition of the former Scottish & Newcastle brewery buildings being carried out shortly after.

The eight-acre area has now been cleared and building work has begun, with student residences being built alongside Fountainbridge/Dundee Street. The residences are due to be ready for autumn 2008.

The first homes at Springside are also well underway. The plans are for 219 contemporary one, two and three bedroom apartments, with completion expected in late 2009. After a successful launch of 58 homes in February 2008, a further release is set for May.

VB Contracts have been contracted to complete brick and blockwork on the site.
