This addition to the Southern General Maternity Unit will be a major new three-storey extension built alongside the existing maternity building. This would bring together, for the first time in Glasgow, neonatal medical and surgical intensive care services which are currently provided in The Queen Mother’s Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

Building work is expected to be complete by the end of 2009.

VB Contracts will be providing all the brick and block work for the new unit.
