North Lanarkshire Council have commisioned a replacement for Clarkston Primary School with a design capacity for 300 pupils. In addition to primary accommodation, 30 new places for Early Education classes will be provided.

The physical educaton facilities within the building and the on-site pitch (7-a-side synthetic surface with floodlighting) will be available for community use. Additionally the assembly hall/gym, dining/general purpose and other community areas will be available to the community outwith education core times of operation.

The site for the new Clarkston Primary School is on a greenfield site adjacent to the Boot's factory. The current primary school is located in Forest Street in Clarkston towards the east end of Airdrie.

VB Contracts will be providing all the brick and block work for the new school.
